Paul Zeise gets stuck in a rest stop toilet stall

all right here we are let's go with it,what uh what's zeiss got going on,apparently he got himself in a jam so,this is not last night because paul was,no it was off dorne filled in for paul, last night uh so this is two nights ago, paul zeiss on his show talking about a,road trip he took once presumably to go,cover a sporting event of some sort and,the travails he went through along the,way i'm driving,on 79,and i gotta get, myself uh you know uh,nature is calling so to speak right,so there's a rest stop, just so happens it's like right up by,grove city exit where i was going, this was like i don't know 8 in the, morning 8 30 in the morning i have to,stop, okay,so i go in the stall you know, sitting there, and all of a sudden,my car keys fall out of my i had like a,hoodie on and when i reached in to grab,i actually i don't know i think i,grabbed my phone or something but my car,key slid out of my,pocket down onto the floor and then, bounced, into under the stall next to me,oh my god yeah so he's in a bit of a jam,now all right he's keeping somebody in,the stall next to him does he get into, that no nobody in the stall next to me,it sounds like all alone in this rest, stop bathroom but his keys have fallen, out of his pocket and his pants are down, and have skidded underneath the the into, the next stall yeah okay yeah so now,he's presented with a dilemma naturally,so now i'm sitting there with a dilemma, like how do i get my keys back you know,i'm not really done doing my business, but i got to take care of this situation,oh jeez,i lean over, and i try you know i'm still sitting i'm,trying to lean on and reach underneath, the stall to grab my keys okay, and of course as i do that,my weight shifts oh no and i kind of,fall down,in between the toilet and the stall with,my head crunched sort of like this if,you can kind of see what i'm you know, what i'm making sure it's a radio now,i'm stuck, now he's stuck with his pants down with, his pants down in the middle of between, presumably the toilet, and and where they hang the paint the, wall of the stall yeah he's jammed up,against there this is tough obviously my,pants are down on my like knees because,i'm you know doing my thing right and,i have my hand, there's now jammed against the floor my,elbows against the floor and my hands, are on my keys i can't even picture what, position he's i can't it's not it's not,a good picture like it's one of those, pictures that you don't want to do you, imagine walking in on this,no no people like you could really go to,jail for this like they just take them, right to jail if they see him in this, position, here here's how it resolved itself oh i,had two choices, one, just be stuck there and maybe die,or two,i wiggled my arm out of the way and then, let myself slide down and fall on the, floor of a rest stop bathroom yeah,so i ended up falling on the floor the, good news if there is any out of the, story is there,is that it was early enough in the, morning that they had recently cleaned, the floor so it wasn't like,a typical rest stop bathroom at like, five or six o'clock at night or seven,o'clock at night it had been used 95,times,and i'd have been laying in like all, kinds of mess down there, that makes it better wow,so he got into this story because a guy,in florida got,uh accidentally killed because he was in,a porta-john and they ran it over with a,bulldozer right and he said he felt bad, that you know a couple after telling, that story on the air and laughing at it,but he could relate he he felt bad he,felt like this was karma yeah come back,to bite him on the ass that he was, laughing at the guy that got run over, and killed an ass that would have been, exposed at that point in time as he lay, cheeks up uh,the real kicker would have been if,somebody was next door do you say hey i,dropped my keys my man slide it over for,me or excuse me can you throw my keys, back over you know i am still a little, confused as to how he got how he felt, right i can't figure out the position,he's trying to describe him he must have, gave out paul got creaky knees yeah like, how couldn't he have got up was he was, contorting himself like like, people at a magic show like splatted up,against the side,i think his weight shifted his hip kind,of went up his hand was kind of like, underneath the stall still clutching the, keys and also when you get your head, lower than your waist like that, sometimes you get a little lightheaded, you know especially if you're in a,sitting position just lose your center,of gravity right and he just he kind of,lost his equilibrium so not to get too, graphic but were any parts of the back, side still on the toilet no they were, facing the sounds like that's pointing, straight up on me yes okay now or at the, very least at a 90 degree angle he was, approaching downward dog position, trying to grab the only thing keeping, that from happening was the stall that, was holding him up and i just jammed, against his pants which were down by his, ankles may have been kind of hooked to,the toil

Zeise Mover Story

Zeise Mover Story

builder do you do you understand how to,put things together yeah i'm pretty, decent i'm pretty good at calling, somebody and paying them but i'm not, very i here's the thing i,i worked, let me tell you this when i was young,in high school,i worked as a plumber, for three summers right,um and then two summers i worked,as,for a moving company, okay you know basically it's just a,grunt you know that it was it was it was,in college, working as a plumber i mean,as you might imagine there's many jobs, that are just not very pleasant, right,i remember the one night we were we were,uh,there was a sewer line that broke,on the basement floor of the bank uh it,was a bank out in monroeville, four days,i ran a jackhammer to get down through,so that we could get down there of,course we got down there there was like,a sewage everywhere as soon as i broke, through of course you know they had that, old like clay pipe you know now you know, you use the plastic stuff but it was, that old clay and the jackhammer went, through one thing you know what i mean, and it was like a geyser of,you know everybody's wastes, shooting up,so that was a really difficult job but,you know there were some jobs it was, easy you know you just change the sink,or whatever, moving, working for a moving company, that is the worst job i've ever, had, the hardest job i've ever had and i've,worked construction i've worked for, plumbing i've worked i'd say another, tough job i worked at ups you know, loading trucks i mean i've worked, every job you could possibly work i,drove a cab,i worked them all i can tell you, unequivocally the hardest job the worst, job,is moving, okay, you here's the thing, classic i'll give you one story and, you'll get kind of get the idea so,we're moving,on fifth avenue down in shadyside, there's these you know townhomes that go,straight up in the air, right, somehow these people managed to get a,really nice leather couch all the way to,the third floor,it's the middle of the summer it's,literally a hundred degrees out,and they want it,they want to move and now we've got to,get this leather couch down the stairs, and of course the stairs come you know, they come down and then go down and then,go down so it's not like there's a bend, because it's just like basically this, straight up in the air townhouse,so we get it up,and now we're trying to get it around to,the right angle to get it down the steps, because it only fits you know, and of course we've got this lady who's,the homeowner, standing there screaming at us,every time that the couch she thinks,we're scratching the couch, okay now of course i'm the one at the, bottom of the thing because at that, point i was probably like 23 you know, and i was lifting weights and i was, strong and all that other stuff i was, young and strong so i'm at the bottom of,the thing is these people are trying to,maneuver it and bring it down step by,step my face is against the couch right, which is leather,i'm sweating, she's yelling at me,because i'm sweating on her couch, she's yelling at the other guys because, she thinks they're ruining the couch we,had it took us every bit of like 35 40,minutes to get that thing out of this, place without scratching it,you know what i'm saying without getting,a cut in it,and of course, when you're you know moving stuff, there's dust flying in the air and, everything else i got down there my face, was like i had was black with like, particles and this and that every single, night when i'd go home i'd have like you, know dust in my nose you know i'd blow,my nose and it would be black you know, what i mean that kind of thing, every day,oh we gotta go we're gonna move this uh,15 bedroom house today, humping out you know bags and you know, boxes and you know of course all that, cardboard cuts your hands and cuts your, arms and you know what i mean, the worst job i ever had,and then nine to five if you're a mover, could mean nine to eight, you know, and back then i had stuff to do you know,i'd go see the ladies and stuff i mean, you know i was young, listen i didn't sign up for this, you know it's seven o'clock i should, already be at i should already be at the, spot right, well what are we talking about here at,seven man you know people say well why'd,you go to the club so early because if,you got in before eight you'd have to,pay to cover you know, the lady wasn't there they weren't at,the door to wait you know,to save a few bucks,i'll tell you one one one more funny, story bill you'll you'll appreciate this, one,so,i get to the place i worked at the place,in greensburg, and uh i get to the warehouse you know, say it's like, you know i think we started at say 7 45,because we had to get on you know in the, truck to go wherever we were going so i,think i started like say 7 45 we get, there literally, look, guy you know the boss comes out and says, hey we got to take a crew up to this, place right now this lady just called so,we're going up there he says hey, lady just called, she says we gotta move her right now, well here her husband went to work, she w

Paul MELTS DOWN Over The Vending Machine

Paul MELTS DOWN Over The Vending Machine

i swear to god and i thought i was going, crazy but then the other day i was, talking to spak who runs the damn place, and he same thing happened to him,i just went to i just went down and, tried to use my debit card to,you know what i mean to to get some uh,so to get a pop and to get some uh uh,chips wouldn't let me get the chips,oh your health, too bad you've already exceeded the, number of calories who the hell's,running this machine remember when, michelle obama ruined school lunches, now she's ruining vending machines, and then you know we finally got back to,getting the big cups you know the bigger, cups these paper cups, apparently, they work too well because now we're,back to these small tiny little cups, where you can't fit anything into it you,got to make 15 trips back and forth to,the water machine,am i crazy here bill yeah i'm not a fan,of these cups i was excited last week, yeah we had a big cost, but it's not just that seriously, you if you use your debit card for that, machine, there's some kind of like governor, mechanism on it where it tells you i'm,up to not too bad,you can't use it,what in the hell is going on so i went, back to the other machine and guess what, somebody got some somebody uh some, brainiac back there okay decided to try,and get,uh some item and they hit the wrong a,number and it was an item that was out, right,so wait a minute so these so that you, know the little circle thing you know,it's one of those things where the, circle thing it spins and pushes it out,the circle thing is is spinning, eternally, says, can't use it,what am i supposed to do,i mean you got to be kidding me i'll,tell you one thing too the other thing,is i mean you know that this thing,uh one thing i've seen bill uh doing the,kdk shows over there at like noon,i've seen i've been in the building, when the stampede for like the pizzas, happen,it's a big day i've seen it,they've listen there has to be people, that are sitting at their desk, and like what day is this wednesday, wednesday's pizza day right it's like, slice on broadway or somebody brings, pizza up is that who it is i hope that's,who it is um,really good pizza by the way but by the, time you and i get here it's been out, sitting out for eight hours, because slice on broadway doesn't,refresh it for us right they don't bring,us our own special pizza but anyway, they uh,they they so they bring it in like, probably about 11 30 right 11 45 or,something right before lunchtime i guess, there has to be people sitting at their, desk, refreshing their email waiting for it,there's waiting for the email baby it's,coming, the email's coming baby they're,refreshing, because i swear to god the thing it's,the inbox and all you hear it's like, elephants coming through down the, hallway here baby,i walked in i walked in because i my,show is at noon i think they they, started the pizza the one day came at,like 11 30.,right,i was walking in the door, and the the pizza guy i actually you, know the pizza guy i was actually, following you know, following them they bring they were, bringing the pizza in,i was walking in the door they didn't,even get the the boxes set here on the, ledge and stuff and they were already, people sprinting you know, sprinting, and i'm like these dudes some of them, are in like you know they're they're,three-piece suits you know and some of,the people in the back the business, people they're they're out there, sprinting in their suits,i'm surprised given the climate we've,lived in the last two years where like, you know people are fighting and, miserable and you know the the lockdowns, and everything so people are just, miserable with everybody else and and,you know we see all these uh videos of,fights breaking out at stores and fights, breaking out at restaurants and things, that are such i'm surprised we haven't,had an all-out brawl right here in front,of the front of the window right here, for the pizza that email's ever late you, might see one yes and the email's late,it says, absolutely, might see one,or better yet,if they bring all cheese pizzas, and only one that's like the specialty, pizza you know one has the you know, extra meats on it or something like that, they bring that, one of them right they stack up 15,cheeses over here and they say that one, over there is the only one that's got, good stuff on it,there'll be people swinging right,i've been here for that i've been here, that i've been here do you know, the oakmont bakery brings their stuff in,i've been here for that,i've never ceased to it never ceases to,amaze me all of the things that we have, theorized because we work at night,it's true, you know, and it can't be long before we start, mangling the cake again right remember,we had cake day every once in a while it,can't be long before that comes back, that was a sight for us at about 8 30.,right,the cakes,i mean seriously, that was uh that was something i,actually kind of missed coming in on,cake day you know just to see what the, vultures did to the cake, scene of the crime, free food and hey we got free

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Paul Zeise Talks Damar Hamlin with Rich Eisen | Full Interview

joining us here now on the Rich Eisen, show is a man who knows Demar Hamlin and,his family he covers the Steelers and,the Pittsburgh Panthers for the,Pittsburgh Post-Gazette also a host on,93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh PA Paul Zeiss, here on the Rich Eisen show how you, doing Paul,uh I'm good today Rich how are you guys, doing out there well we're we're good, too and obviously sharing the same, feeling you are right now that uh it,appears that Demar has taken a turn for,the better and,um has his neurological functions in at,first blush and I'm wondering what's,going through your mind right now Paul, well yeah it's interesting I actually, was talking about that uh um a little, bit ago on my show I I think that when, you have this kind of event you know, cardiac event I'm not a doctor whatever, but I've talked to a number of doctors, over the last few days because I'm just, trying to figure out what's going on but,one of the most important things is your,is your brain activity and you know it,depends on how long you were without, oxygen and that kind of stuff so the, fact that it feels like or it seems like, based on what they're what they're,talking about is that is neurological, capacities are intact,um that's a great great first step to,hey this that you know he he's you know,he has a chance to make a full recovery, and I think that's when everybody's,really holding out hope for is is that, you know when he gets through all this, and obviously there'll be a rehab, process and all of that other stuff,um that he's able to you know live a,normal life again well this awful, episode incident,um disaster however you want to term it,has uh in introduced Demar Hamlin's name,to a lot of people let's introduce him, best we can through you to a lot of,people who who is DeMar Hamlin and tell,me about him, well you know you know again I one of,the things that I had unique unique, opportunity is not only do I cover pit,but my son uh was recruited and, obviously played at Pitt for five years, and you know for three of those years,Lamar Hamlin was his teammate and also I,coached my sons uh in a lot of their, well you know when they were growing up,in basketball and things of the such and,and so we ran into Demar Hamlin and his, family a lot you know and you get you, know playing against them uh things like, that in basketball and whatnot so I I,got to know them and and I got to know, the family very well and I think I'll,tell you,the thing that that is uh to me so good,is that his story is getting out there,um this is a this is a guy who is I mean, every bit the great teammate that you, know people are talking about him being,uh he's a giving person obviously I mean, when he was when he was in college he,was trying to raise money for his in his, hometown of McKees Rocks he was trying,to raise money for kids,um he's a guy that basically uh was, always willing to Mentor younger players, his family is very involved in a lot of,different community activities and, listen I I think that you know one of,the things obviously you know if you, know anything about his family you know, the the his dad Mario had some legal, troubles,um if you read anything about this, family or you know anything about this, family they understand and they embrace,it because you know they feel like, obviously he's put it in his past and,he's really become a good role model for,a lot of other people to to be able to,say hey don't fall into what I fell into, and he's obviously been a really good, dad who is to his son but um all of the, things that you're reading and hearing, about him as being a a really uh just a,warm caring human being and I'm talking, about Demar is true and and I think that, you know I was watching this with my son,uh who played with Demar and he,literally for almost 45 minutes was, silent you know texting his teammates, you know just trying to and my son's not,one that really shows emotions trying to,really because you know he said that the, thing is when you play you know when you, play college football obviously every, year you're playing with you know 104,other guys you know there's a lot of,guys that are just sort of faces in the, crowd that you you know you kind of know,or you kind of even don't even know, because it's so big and we're but but,Demar and I you know we we were friends,uh they started together on the same, defense you know they were in all the, same meetings they spent time together I,got a chance when uh when Pitt played in,the Sun Bowl uh it would have been my,son's senior year they played Stanford I,got a chance there's been uh some really, good time with Mario uh and I can just, tell you these are assault the Earth, really really good people so everything, that you're reading you know sometimes,uh sometimes something like this happens, and people all you know will go way, overboard to say how good of a person, the person is,um and then you know maybe those of us,in the home are like I don't know in,this case I can't emphasize enough that,he is warrants all of the you know warm,r

I fell into, and he's obviously been a really good, dad to his to his son but um all of the, things that you're reading and hearing, about him as being a a really uh just a,warm caring human being and I'm I can just tell you these are salt, the Earth really really good people so,everything that you're reading you know, sometimes uh sometimes something like, this happens and people all you know,we'll go way overboard to say how good,of a person the person is,um and then you know maybe those of us,at home are like I don't know in this, case I can't emphasize enough that he is,warrants all of the you know warm, regards and everything that people are, giving to him I've got uh Paul Zeiss, here from Pittsburgh uh Pittsburgh,Post-Gazette host of 93.7 The Fan or,friend of the Hamlin family also a man, who's covered him and has known him for, many many years so this is this is a,just uh you know when we booked you to,come on the show I I wanted to make sure,we knew who this young man was certainly, since all we're talking about him is,being in the ICU and unresponsive or not, responsive yet and the fact that we get,to talk when we're finding out he's,squeezing the the hands of his loved, ones and it's just awesome man I mean, the whole country we've been we've been,on pins and needles for 72 hours and,we're hoping that this is a nice Corner, turned Paul so I'm it's pretty cool we,get to chat like this you know no yeah I,will say this too you know I I think one,of the things uh when I was talking with, the more uh actually at that Sun Bowl, afterwards and and uh you know, there was at that point probably still a,lot of NFL Scouts and things and such, who were not sold on the mark and this,is why I'm going to tell you I'm betting,on him to you know make a full recovery,uh and and and and and you know he's,going to beat this thing because he's,you know there were a lot of people, there and this wasn't you know Demar, wasn't one of these guys that jumped off,the map athletically and all that other, stuff and obviously there was questions, about his size and things of the such, but you know he basically made it very, clear listen you know I've been people, have been betting against me my entire, life you know and and and I'm going to,c

by joining us now here on pittsburgh, sports now is face that's familiar to,everyone Paul is ice Pittsburgh,post-gazette and ninety three seven and, also father of number 25 the guy you see,in the background,Elijah's Ison oh that's your most, important job Saturday I saw you on the, field before the game during the game, how was Senior Day for you,I heard Paul Elijah's excuse me Elijah's,interview afterward he says a little, emotional but he kept everything, together as you no doubt would expect, him to how'd you keep things together, was how are things for for you in the, family well I mean I think for you know, for us for me it's really tough I mean I,think people don't really quite, understand Elijah that kind of grew up,around Pitt football I mean I was, covering the team I started in 2001 so,he was six years old when he was coming,to practices with me coming to spring, practices coming to training camp with,me going to you know he started going to,the Pitt football camp he knew a lot of,the coaches he come to practices and him,and Paul Rhoads his kids would play flip,on the sidelines I mean there's a kid, that has grown up in Pitt football and,I've sort of watched him grow up you, know and you know gone down to camps and, watched him play you know and the,seven-on-seven s down there and stuff, like that so for him this has been you, know 16 years of his life Pitt football,so for me to sit there and watch him run,out of the tunnel knowing this is the, last time you know he's gonna run out of,the tunnel being a member of Pitt, football and you know here I guess it's,like the Marines you're never a former,Pitt player but you know it's really, gonna be tough I didn't think it would, hit me as hard as it did but the moment, was probably too big for me like this is,it like even when he graduated from,North Allegheny and I knew that was his, last game was now he's got you know five, more years or four, for years to play football but I mean,it's kind of one of those things where, you just sort of felt like wildly I'll,never be in highest field again watching,it play football and I guess that you, really don't realize as you go through,it how quickly it goes and really how, much of a portal you know your life it,is that you go down the highest field, and watch these games and you know so,yeah it was a rough one for me and I,know for him it was tough just because, the same year same time thing that he's,grown up he's growing up with Pitt, football and that's really always known, and it's really all you know he's ever, really wanted to be a big football, player well you know that was his last, ten last time to do it at home well, obviously we they're hoping there's a,few more big games ahead but look I,wanted to focus with you on the the, decision of being a Pitt football player,as you know this discussion especially, this time of the year comes up all the, time, kids deciding to go elsewhere not, staying home, you know the cynics out there there's,you know there's no diminish the value,of kids staying home and just how, important that is not only for the, program but also for them and how you, know how it benefits everyone just from, your perspective what did it mean to you,and how do you think it benefited this,is probably to be a long answer because, there's a lot of benefits but how did it,impact you your family and Elijah, deciding to stay home well I mean like I,said he's grown up with Pitt football so,it was you know that was something he's,always wanted to do but he had you know,a lot of different opportunities and, there were some that we're interesting, and some that he looked into you know, but as we went through the process and, everybody's process is different you, know I talked to him as somebody who, covered the team who's been around the, team for a long long time who's come, recruiting and all that stuff and I talk,to him a lot about listen you know if,you come to pick the one thing that you, have at Pitt besides your family being, very close and I was being able to watch, all the games and all the other stuff, the coaching staff is going to do their, best to try to take care of you because, you're a local guy you know if you go,somewhere you know you go three states, away you better be good pretty quickly, because if not they're recruiting, someone from that area and you know, there's probably going to come in over, your head because they don't have to,worry about coming back here to your, high school to go get you know and so,and I've seen that happen far too often,to good players but maybe gone away, somewhere and got hurt and got lost you, know great example with Eliza what was,his a second year third year when he,missed the entire season with his was, ankle injury, you know that's something that maybe if,he's not at Pitt he doesn't get a real, opportunity to recover from because it's,like all right well we got a guy that's,you know from the local area or whatever,we're gonna we're going to give him the, opportunity and next thing you know you, know he gets buried on

Rich Eisen Responds to the Tee Higgins Backlash after Damar Hamlin’s Collapse | The Rich Eisen Show

I do want to address again the backlash, against T Higgins and I believe that's,in reference to what BART Scott said on,first take yesterday and I I just want,to say this on on that subject matter, because I I,came on the air Tuesday and made sure to,in in in offering my thoughts and, pouring my emotions out like the rest of,the country is and trying to share, the shock and grief with everybody just, like every,um everywhere else I wanted to make sure, that I I mentioned T Higgins that he did, nothing wrong he didn't do a thing wrong,he played football is what he did he,played football, and it it's shocking that the Collision, that occurred has led to this,so I just want to say,I don't believe Bart Scott thought you, know I I've known Bart for a long time,I've met him he's not coming on the air,and saying that that t Higgins, purposefully, and recklessly, caused another man to go into cardiac, arrest okay but we got to choose our, words very carefully in the media these, days when we go on the air, okay and we're in a day and age where, everything is getting parsed and, everything is getting,uh polarized I mean you saw it today on,uh for the lack of a better phrase baby, fox I'm not into this, argument television and I'm not into, this awkward television I'm not into, that sort of stuff and and I and I'm,assuming anybody who takes in this show, isn't either because this show isn't,that, but can we just Channel all of the, thoughts and as we're all waiting for, this news to occur and talking about, this,in television segments and it was so,difficult for my friends and colleagues,at ESPN to figure out what was going on,in real time and talking about the same, thing over and over and over again for,10 15 20 minutes and then an hour and,two hours and three hours,it's tough,on television not nearly at when I use,the word tough I want to make sure, everyone understands the tough part is,what the Hamlin family is going through, but in terms of just,us on the air can we just choose our, words very carefully and rally around, this kid and rally around everybody, that's been involved in this thing from,T Higgins to the bills to the Bengals to,the officials on the field who may have, said you got five minutes to get ready, like it was any other moment that we've,seen in in the history of the NFL of,somebody being taken off the field via, ambulance where it's just like okay next, man up and then everybody had to start,to realize on the field yeah this isn't,one of those situations, this is a different one,The Human Condition people make mistakes, people just assume that regular, protocols being followed it's not like, some Overlord sitting in some Smoky room, somewhere,in New York City saying these guys will, play you tell them they got five minutes,to get out there can we all just take a,breath please, choose our words carefully, and rally around this kid and send our, love that way and I know that sounds, like Pine disguise stuff but I think,it's also simple really it's simple, the T Higgins did he lower his helmet, come on and is that a rule in the NFL,that needs to be addressed these are all, things that we could talk about down the, road here if this is it but T Higgins, did nothing wrong, nothing,we were all stunned about, the result you mentioned yesterday prior,to the show about Dale Earnhardt's crash, that killed him but you know everyone's,like that's what caused it really, exactly, then after a while I've already talked, about a hot of what a Heinz device it's,called, and figure out if there is something to,protect anybody but this appears to be a,freak accident lightning strike that, rarely happens in football normally, happens in hockey or baseball and it's a,puck or a baseball goes off of,somebody's chest and a thoracic blunt, force trauma causes somebody's heart to,stop beating, just wanted to say that
