Jon Wilner's Predictions for the Near Future of the Pac-12

is television market the number one line, item because that leads to the revenue, which always is the number one line item, television market speak to me on that, and where the pac-12 is leaning looking, well television markets mean something, but not what they once did you know when, the pac-12 expanded uh what was it 11,years ago,and added colorado and utah a lot of the, calculation was based on how many cable, subscribers were in your footprint and, that would determine your valuation it's,not about the raw number of cable, subscribers anymore now it's about, big brands and the number of schools in,your conference that can drive tv,ratings, and occupy those prime broadcast windows,on raw on over-the-air television right, who's going to be on,big fox or abc at eight o'clock eastern, right those are your big revenue drivers, that's why the big ten wanted sc right, and why the sec wanted texas and, oklahoma,so that's the main issue right now for,the pac-12 and and for the acc,and the big 12. there there are no,you know over-the-air tv revenue uh,ratings drivers available for those, conferences because the sec and the big,ten have taken them all up okay big 12,in all this big 12 go away big 12 gets, packed 12. where do you think the big 12,is in all of this well one of two air,one or two directions right either the,the big 12 ends up gobbling either four,or six pac-12 schools and is the number, three conference,or the pac-12 nsc acc, form a partnership that, marginalizes the big 12 right it's now a,race for third you know strategically, third behind the sec and big ten and, that's either a combination of the,pac-12 and acc,or it's,the big 12 gobbling up some some pac-12,schools so we'll find out where that's,going to stand here in the next couple, weeks but ultimately you know the tv,executives are telling the conferences, basically here are your valuation, numbers based on,you know x y and z scenarios with your, membership and,you know the pac-12 is going to have a,number and it's going to present that, number to the arizona schools in,colorado and utah and washington and, oregon, here's what if we stick together here's,what we're looking at meanwhile the big,12 is running the numbers, with its media uh you know experts and, saying to the four corner schools well, here's what we're looking at if you come, over here and so that will i think, largely dictate, how this plays out,how does this play out, boy,if i had to bet yeah,i guess i don't want you throwing your, money away you're on vacation come on,i'm betting uh so here's what i'm doing,i'm betting 35 cents because i thought, this through i'm betting 35 cents to,pac-12 partners, with the acc,i'm betting 35 cents the pac-12,adds schools he holds together and adds,a couple schools and then i'm betting,30 cents that the pac-12 implodes so,it's pretty close to one-third one-third,one-third you know

Jon Wilner discusses the path forward for Pac 12 teams

all right john wilner joins us for a few, minutes wilder hotline the man never, sleeps even on vacation he's in the, middle of somewhere in america doing his, thing because the story like this, with the pac-12 imploding and all these, moving parts means you can't take any, time away so i'll just get right into it,what is fact to you today,of of what is out there a week into this, that you believe brad this is where it's,gonna end up in some way shape or form, well i mean the facts to me are that, there is no immediate pathway to the big,ten for washington and oregon they may,get there eventually but i think we're a,couple years down the road or that's a,couple years down the road uh it's clear,to me that the big 12 is considering,uh whether to,extend invitations to,arizona arizona state colorado and utah, but i don't know that the big 12 has, concluded that that is definitely what,it wants to do and i don't know that, there has been substantial uh,interaction between big 12,representatives and,uh folks from those schools so things, are, you know with expansion things tend to,move slower than, people, would get the sense by social media, right because there's a lot of reports, out there some are true some are not but, things tend to move slower behind the, scenes because there's legal, considerations uh you got negotiations, going on at the presidential level with,tv networks so my guess is we're we're,still uh you know i don't think, anything's going to happen this week put,it that way, what is fiction to you that you look at,this and you see reports and you hear, all the conversation what do you just, look at and say that stuff's totally not, true there's no way that that's,happening,uh i think that any reports that link,pac-12 teams to the sec is fiction uh i,think that any,i i think any reports that that the big,ten is about to make a move another move,is fiction i think that the big ten is,gonna, hunker down for two years and then try,to get notre dame and whatever team, wants to bring in as a partner with, notre dame um,so those are those are the big ones, right i mean there's a there's a lot of,little stuff oh these this team is,talking with or this school's talking, with this conference but the big ones, are you know what are the sec and big,ten thinking about and and i don't think, right now the sec is considering anybody,uh,west of the mississippi if the sec were,to make a move it would be into the acc, okay and let's get to the acc i know jim, phillips a little bit from him being, here a long time ago in a different, situation with bill frieder as an,assistant coach he's at the acc, there's these rights negotiations or,rights deal i should say that they have,in the acc that it has a long-term tool,my understanding john is,if enough acc schools the number i was, told was eight if eight schools or more, come and say we want out they can get,out of this deal yeah lawyers are going,to have to get involved, you wrote about gonzaga i'm looking at,all of this and saying, you know a basketball i'm not saying you, don't do football but a basketball, type of league that has carolina duke, arizona, kansas gonzaga you can go sell that to,anybody the ncaa is not going to be in,charge of football at some point the, ncaa is in the business of doing, tournaments that's what they do,and march madness big tournament is,there a path john that you see that, maybe people tilt their head and say, what if basketball is what we built our, foundation on yes football's still part,of it or does that make no sense to you,it makes some sense the big money is,still in football even if you had some, kind of super conference that included, duke carolina kansas arizona gonzaga, that's not a huge revenue driver, compared to,your football versions right so,i think that there is a there's an,outcome right if we're looking at the, entire spectrum there's an outcome in,which the pac-12,expands its basketball offerings and, maybe goes after you know uh gonzaga and,st mary's and then there's a partnership, with the acc so those schools are, playing duke and carolina, but that doesn't necessarily solve for,the football piece and there are fewer, options for the football piece because, the valuable properties are already, spoken for,the acc television markets if we're just, talking television markets in this new, negotiations whatever it looks like,is television market the number one line, item because that leads to the revenue, which always is the number one line item, television market speak to me on that, and where the pac-12 is leaning looking, well television markets mean Jon Wilner, Pac-12 Breaking News 06-30-22

Jon Wilner, Pac-12 Breaking News 06-30-22

as promised John Wilner who broke this, mega story of the Pac-12 USC and UCLA in,particular bull Team for the Big Ten it,has now been approved by the Big Ten,Conference John broke it nationally, earlier today and now what does this, mean for the conference what does this, mean for Arizona State and Arizona, appreciate John joining us for a couple,of minutes did this catch you off guard,or was this something that you who felt, was building the last couple of days,oh no it caught me off guard I'll be,honest I did not uh I did not expect it,I thought something like this would, happen but in you know five years this,is like a a a a media contract cycle too, soon uh if you will I thought we were, headed to a structure where there was, going to be an elite division within, college football, but it's moving that way much quicker, than I thought but you know what there's,a lot of money at stake here for USC and,UCLA and and that was clearly a priority, for them how did this start, well I mean the long answer is it,started in like 2010-11 when the Pac-12,made some very poor decisions on its, media rights that created a situation, where they were way behind and where you, know there was a huge gap with the the,Big Ten and where USC and UCLA were, willing to to look and cast a Wandering, eye uh at at this point right I mean,it's not all about Larry Scott's media, deals 11 years ago but they played a,significant role there's no doubt about, that if things had worked out, differently on that front I don't think,USC and UCLA would have been as,interested in leaving John Wheeler with,us on short notice willner hotline of,course follow him on Twitter he broke, this story nationally USC UCLA bolting, from the Pac-12 it is now done 2024 they, are now part of the Big Ten Conference,if you look at this from UCLA and USC,I'll just look at UCLA they've been, running a deficit and the Big Ten media, deal as you alluded to a little bit, there is expected to be north of 100,million John per school yeah I think, that's going to be about right 100,million right now in the Pac-12 they're,going to get about 19 million there,um you know it depends on how you, calculate it but and the Pac-12 would, have redone its media rights with USC,and UCLA and probably gotten each School,up to I don't know 50 million so uh,they're doubling their their media, income and so that was obviously a huge, part and for UCLA which is in massive, massive debt athletically right there, they've got a three-year debt total of,like 50 60 million at least, this is a way out of that for sure,so will this be football only it's the, question I've been getting asked is it,too early to know will this just be,football and all the other sports remain, walk me through that with USC and UCLA,going to the Big Ten my understanding is,it is all sports,uh so that would absolutely include, men's basketball it's all sports that, the Big Ten sponsors right like there's,some sports out here,uh the Pac-12 sponsors that the Big Ten,doesn't but all the major sports, football men's basketball women's,basketball baseball softball,it's all they're all going which is,going to be interesting because now the, student athletes in the USC and UCLA are, gonna have to travel to,your Rutgers and College Park Maryland, for their games you know it's it is,certainly an interesting development you, know and the geography was one of the, things that kind of always you thought, well I don't know if it's going to,happen that's such a long way for those, athletes to go but Money Talks, how does this impact Arizona State and,Arizona less than 24 hours after the, announcement yeah well it's going to be,interesting right now I think, the future of the package there are two, outcomes for the Pac-12 one is it stays, together in a lesser version and, potentially merges with the big 12.,that depends on Oregon and Washington,if Oregon and Washington leave and I,don't know for sure that they are not, leaving uh if Oregon and Washington were,to leave, then the whole thing fractures I think a,very realistic scenario for the Arizona, schools and for Colorado and Utah is to,reach out to the Big 12 and say would, you take us as a four School package or,are they part of a bigger merger right, you know so you end up with like a 22 or,2014 conference that spans the central, mountain and Pacific time zones, with right now the way the status is ASU,football is under investigation their, basketball program hasn't made it to the, tournament U of A on the other hand, their basketball program is one of the, best in the nation there's no denying, that so is U of A more desirable even, though Phoenix has the bigger television, market by a wide margin John,um I don't think Arizona is more, desirable I mean in some ways Arizona is,a better fit for the Big 12 because Big,12 is a really good basketball league so,Arizona basketball would play great in,the in the in the big 12. but you know,it's going to be about more than that, and certainly the Phoenix Market,I think would be significant uh but I to,

The Pac 12 Needs to Begin Expansion Talks Now That UCLA is Leaving | Realignment | Jon Wilner

The Pac 12 Needs to Begin Expansion Talks Now That UCLA is Leaving | Realignment | Jon Wilner

John Wilner at willner hotline on,Twitter part of the Pac-12 hotline and, rights for basically almost every, newspaper imaginable joins us 365 Sports,Craig smoke Paul Catalina and I'm David, smoke John thank you very much for your, time the the decision yesterday was, there any part of California system, knowing if they did block UCLA that the,Pac-12 even though it's the California, system the danger was the Big Ten went, and found somebody else and it just, wrecked a little bit more of the Pac-12,you know I don't think that they took, that into account I mean that's,certainly a very reasonable conclusion,to come to if they had blocked UCLA but,you know this governing body looks at,Collins and all the other campuses in,the University system as as like, one one's body and they are their goal,is to and their mission is to do what, they think is best uh for that for that, system and I don't think they took into, account what may happen to the Pac-12 uh,you know if they had somehow blocked, that move,John this was I mean more I mean seemed, like more posturing than anything or,clarification a lot of the people on,this you know on on the board are not in,athletics they don't you know operate in,that World,um so was this more for clarification, was it posturing was this even worth, time could they have just told UCLA pay,the fee,um you know and then we're you're good, without all this rigmarole, well I mean they could have but that's,not how you know governing bodies in,higher education usually work right I,mean most things take a long time and, hires people look I think that this was,you know by far the most likely outcome, but it was not uh people are assuming, that this was a rubber stamp thing from, the very beginning back in July with,Gavin Newsom railed railed about UCLA's,process it was not a rubber stamp until,I don't know, four or six weeks ago when when the, board I think the the majority of folks,on that board decided you know what,we're going to let UCLA go the way out,is to let UCLA go,take steps to make sure that the, athletes are protected and also take, steps to make sure that there's,something there for care that gives,Newsome a political win as well which, you can't discount the importance of,that but uh I don't think that this was, rubber stamped uh to end like this you, know back in July or August there was a,there was real real push for them uh,overturning it at that point and it just, they I think they've got to the point, that they could reach a compromise you, know in the last month or two and they, took that road John I was reading some,of the comments from uh Rich Lieb the, chair of the the UC Regents and he's,saying I'd love for there to be Harmony, against amongst everybody to be honest I,would love for Cal in the Big Ten but, that's not where it is right now uh he,later said we certainly put some, pressure to see if we could in the end, expansion was not going to be on the, table for us so how much of this was, hope that perhaps some others would be,able to to tag along and head off to the,big tennis or Cal being able to go off,to the Big Ten as well and hope that, there might be an invite in store if,they were to go through this process, yeah no I think that that was certainly, something they they explore in the first, few months right back in August,September maybe October but you know I I,think that uh you know more broadly it,seems like the big town is done, expanding for right now uh certainly the,the board you know they're trying to do,what's in the best interest of all of,the universities in their system and and, getting Cal into the boot pen it was, something they looked into cows roll in,this whole thing can't be,overlooked I mean Cal pushed hard to try,to leverage this to get themselves in,the Big Ten to try to get themselves, money uh you know they they were putting,a lot of pressure on that board which is,why you know I think part of the reason, why it took so long it was so,complicated because they were hearing, from UCLA but they were also hearing, that Cal and their year you know a month,so it ends about this,John if if the system is to protect all,the schools within the system and I know, that Cal and UCLA are the ones in the,Pac-12 and UCLA eventually the Big Ten,but if their job is to protect everybody, within the system did they ever think, about UCLA and that stipend or subsidy, going to other schools within the system,I don't know for sure if they did or not,but I would say that Cal is the one, who's you know Revenue stream is is more, affected the only one whose Revenue, stream is really affected by UCLA's,decision right I mean UC Irvine in the,Midwest for instance uh they're not, they're not losing money directly, because of UCLA's decision I think that,is how they justify, keeping the subsidy just to the perfect, campus and not to the other uh seven or,eight undergraduate campuses so how does, the Pac-12 respond now George cleavkov, had made some comments about,um you know maybe that UCLA isn't going, and you know that was you

Jon Wilner Reacts to George Kliavkoff's Pac-12 Media Day Availability

Jon Wilner Reacts to George Kliavkoff's Pac-12 Media Day Availability

all right wellner hotline john wilner, coming through, connectivity issues, colin published aside here live at pac,12 football media day,it is good to see you good to see you,too what did you make out of,commissioner he joined me a little bit, earlier a little follow-up stuff what, did you make out of him on the stage i,thought he was a little uneven to start,i thought he found his bearings and, balance was feisty what about you well i,thought that there was,you know it was created in a way that he,could be diplomatic at first,in his prepared remarks but then pull, the gloves off, when he got the to the q a session and, that's what he did right he came out, firing when he was asked about the big,12. he was pretty candid when he talked, about ucla situation,uh you know,i think what a lot of people expected, given, the beating the conference has taken, publicly over the last month,uh did he come off strongly, strong in a in a way that pac-12 fans, and pac-12 schools, wanted to hear right i mean they they, needed to see some leadership, and and you know some an attempt to,portray the conferences being unified, which i think it feels like it is behind, the scenes, but that's not the public narrative the, public narrative is oh my you know the, arizona schools are ready to jump at any, moment stanford and oregon and, washington wait for the big ten to call, any day,and behind the scenes i think it's a,little bit different things are moving, slower,uh in reality and i think that there's,probably more of a commitment than, people think not that that commitment is,unbreakable but i think at this point,it's stronger than people think and i,feel like the school's wanting him to,portray it,what did he say today that you tilted, your head and said,i'm not buying that,i'm not buying that um,you know well i'm,i was very curious about the ucla what,he said about ucla and,he portrayed it as being a little bit, fragile and i've kind of heard that, but fragile meaning that they are, getting a lot of pushback by their, constituents about this big ten move and,he left the door open you know i said,it's unlikely that they're gonna, leave or that they're gonna come back, but that was stronger than i would have, expected him to say frankly i didn't,expect him to get into the details of,ucla situation at all and he talked, about faculty resistance student athlete, resistance and that was i thought that, was an island, the big 12 grenades being lobbed comment, yeah what did you make out of that john, well i mean i figured he was going to,have something to say about what the big,12 has been doing right the big 12 has, been, not only making public comments from the,new commissioner but also leaking a lot,of stuff,uh designed to,you know, portray the pac-12 as being, ready to fall apart ready to break apart, and and i'm not sure again i'm not sure, that that's really the case behind the, scenes at this point in the process and,so he's had to wait 10 what is 10 days, since brett your mark made his his, comments so he finally got a chance to,be on the stage the pacquiao was the, last conference to have its media day,and so he basically unloaded about all,the stuff that we we've been hearing, about his conference for the last month,do you think he moved the needle today, with the public narrative i do think he,did yes i mean absolutely at least he,got it back to zero right from being, underwater in terms of if you're like, what are the optics at the optic level, for the pac-12 to this point it's been, below zero,it was never again he was never going to,get it all the way to a 10 given the, situation but at least he got it back to,stable i think the comment about playing, games in southern california, and how that might look,i was talking to you off camera about it,do you see that as a way that is,interesting intriguing or really smart, business sense somewhere in between no i,think it's both and i think that they, can use you know there's a push to get, neutral sight games to vegas new stadium, and there's also a new stadium in la,they could line up neutral site games,non-conference at sofi stadium uh they, could potentially move own games if the, schools are willing move home games to,l.a,the other piece of that is,how much of it is a reference to san, diego state being in the conference, eventually right i think san diego state,is their number one expansion target, they have to be the number one expansion, target and so he could just be,indicating that look san diego state's,going to be in the fact 12 at some point, could you see a time where arizona state,is scheduled to play eastern michigan,in the third week of the season on a,saturday night in front of family and, friends instead they're going to move, that game or do we get to a point where, they're never going to play eastern, michigan again because the commissioner, did allude to we got to play top flight, competition but move that type of game,or u of a against mississippi state out, here is that what we're looking at,it could be right i mean the schools,w

Comedians on JEWS

Comedians on JEWS

my mother is Jewish and my father is,Catholic that is the truth I was raised,Catholic formally although I must say,the Jewish mind comes out even in the,Catholic system giving example we used,to go into confession and I would bring,a lawyer in with me,Bless My Father for I have sinned I,think you know Mr Cohen,so there's always laws Associated being,a woman especially a married woman if,you're okay if you're a married woman in,Judaism and you're on your period you're,considered unclean, yeah which that's actually, hey I mean I have a problem with that, spiritually but physically that's,actually a very nice way of describing, what's actually happening, unclean as far I mean like legitimately,if I put two giant buckets on the stage, and one giant bucket said clean vaginas, and the other giant bucket said unclean, vaginas and then I handed each of you a,bleeding vagina, and I said put that anywhere, which bucket do we all know would be,overflowing with vaginas foreign, until you stopped having a period Then, you have to have seven days of no blood, and then you gotta go to a ritual Bath, called a Mikvah and then you're consider, clean again,um and at seven days of no blood in a,row, that means if you get spotting two days, out, yeah clock starts over, yeah it's like microwave popcorn it's,gonna be the full three seconds so it,does not count, and while you're on clean,um you can't touch your husband and your, husband can't touch you oh yeah can't,even sleep next to each other you gotta,go sleep in the corner like the bleeding, that you are,so this law it's called Nida this is the, reason this is the sociologically this,is the reason that Orthodox Jews have, large families it's not only so you can, fill up our minivans there's another, recipe,it boils down to this how long it,appears us what appearance go for these, days, five days okay, she's heavily disagreeing with you in,the back so what do you think it is,seven said the mansplainer, all right let's split the difference, five to seven that's what I thought I,was gonna be a woman saying the answer,to that but seven I know, five five to seven days I believe she, said uh,plus seven days of no blood that's 12 to,14 days okay,um plus another day or two ago the, ritual bath to go to the mick but, they're not like 24 Hour Fitness you, know they're only at certain spots,so now we're talking about right around,13 to 15 days after such a period is the, first time you're allowed to touch your, husband uh it's also when you are the, most fertile in your cycle, your ovaries are right at the bottom of,your, and you haven't touched your husband in,two weeks so he hasn't touched you, you're supposed super horny and right, then God's like go,there's no chance dude there's no chance, imagine the husband's home washing, dishes comes come out of his ears, hate this religion so much,Buddhist all the time, all the kids like Daddy just shut the, up Daddy, I'm this, you can beat your kids in Judaism just,so you know that is allowed I can't be,your wife but you can be your children, and right then the woman walks through, the door you know the guy's all cranky, just pent up and he's just like, where have you been, she's like ritual bath and he's like oh,yeah, foreign, last week on Larry King live Marlon,Brando made the shocking statement that,Hollywood is quote run by Jews,in response outraged Jewish, organizations made it snow in New York,in April, yeah well I'm Jewish friends so I'm not, freaked out by your culture I know a,little bit about it just from hanging, around like oh yo let's go out at school, tomorrow like we can't go out of Sha Na,Na tomorrow, foreign,I had so many questions why do some of,you people dress like Run DMC,he had broke my show business rules,is this a rule you know the rules of,perception if if they're black then it's,a gang,if they're Italian it's a mob but if,they're Jewish it's a coincidence and,you should never speak about it,I ain't got so much trouble Kyrie got in,trouble,Kyrie Kyrie Irving posted a a link to a,movie that he had seen on Amazon no,caption on the post or nothing like that, but apparently this movie had some I,don't know anti-semitic tropes or,something it was so weird tired like, from Hebrew to negro or something, and the NBA told me you should apologize, and he was slow to apologize and then,The List of Demands to get back in their, good graces got longer and longer and, this this is where you know I draw the, line I know the Jewish people have been, through terrible things all over the, world but but but but you can't blame, that on black Americans he just, you just can't,you know what I mean thanks for the one, person that said who,a fair punishment but he should just, post a link to Schindler's List and,y'all write your own captions laughs,it's Kyrie Irving's black ass was, nowhere near the Holocaust,in fact he's not even certain existed,I saw one,new sponge and screaming about Kanye she, said mental health is no Episode 51: Amazon & Apple: The future of sports is here | New York Post Sports

John The NFL and Amazon, are in full force.,Andrew It's not just Amazon.,Apple is on a collision course with,Aaron Judge and Roger Maris, streaming. It's here.,Google.,And we're back.,The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media,Podcast. I'm Andrew Marchand, sports, media columnist for The New York,Post. He's John OURAND,,our good buddy there, John Ourand, from the Sports Business Journal, there, media reporter.,And John, last couple of weeks,,we've had some really good big, jets. Three weeks ago, Joe,Buck and Troy Aikman, two weeks ago,,Kevin Burkhart and Greg Olsen.,Last week, Al Michaels and,Kirk Herbstreit.,This week, me and you is going,at it. Lot to talk about with,Amazon, Apple, ESPN,,NFL ratings, baseball, a lot,to go over.,I like it, man. I like not have the,big get. Let's just get right into,it. Who's up?,Who's down?,Who's up?,Who's down?,All right, my. Who's up?,ESPN.,Jimmy Pitaro.,Why?,Monday Night Football feels, big again.,It feels like it's going to be a big, event going forward.,We've talked about this before,,right? So I don't really like to,kind of make a prediction and then, say, oh, look, we're right.,But I do think if you look at where,Monday Night Football is trending,,first off, you got Joe Buck and Troy,Aikman feels bigger.,You have Eli and Peyton.,Peyton Eli Manning cast, first week. They're going to come, back for this week.,And so and then this past,Monday, they had their first, quasi doubleheader where you have, one game starting on ESPN that, about half time a second, game starts on ABC.,This is just the first of those.,Next year they're going to three of,them. And that's going to be a,big deal.,That is going to become a thing.,The Monday Night Football, doubleheader when it happens a few, times a year.,I didn't like the double box.,It said that. I think when they go,to the highlights with Van Pelt for,the other game that works better.,They're going to make the graphic a,little smaller in the upper left, corner. Look at CBS and Turner.,NCAA Tournament.,How they do it a small doesn't need,to be so big. I get it first time, out maybe you do that.,But overall big win,for Pitaro for Burke Magnus, for Disney because Monday,Night Football, they're also going,to have flex scheduling coming up in,the future.,Just feel it all coming together, where Monday Night Football, feels like a big event again.,It's had some years now where it,kind of felt like, you know what,,Monday night, it's after Sunday, night in terms of primetime,NFL.,Now, I'm not saying it's on,par with Sunday night yet,,but it does have that big feel, with the stars in the booth.,Haven, Eli and then, better games, doubleheaders,,flex scheduling.,It's all coming together.,And I think it's a it's a real good, deal for Pitaro Magnus,Chapek, Disney, Mickey Mouse,,the whole game.,All right. I'm going to do Who's Up,and I am going to do somebody who I,think is going to be a villain in,the New York market this week.,And that's Eddy Cue of Apple.,He's my who's up because if,you're going to run a business, this,is the way to run a business.,It might not be consumer friendly, for New York Yankee fans that, want to be able to watch, this Friday's game on broadcast, television or on cable television,,because, of course, this is where,Aaron Judge could possibly, break or tie Roger Maris, his, record. It's an important game,to the Yankees fans.,But for Apple, this is why they, did the deal. They want to get the, best games and they want to be able,to get into, the New York market and get people, sampling their service.,If you're Apple, I know that there, was some talk in the, press. I read your column, of,course, about will they possibly, move that move it off of Apple TV,plus and make it available,to a wider audience for Apple.,No chance. There's no way they're,going to do that.,This is streaming.,It's not always consumer friendly,,but if you're in the business of,streaming, this is a really good, business deal for Apple TV Plus and,Eddy Cue.,We're going to get more into, streaming with Amazon and Apple and, more discussion. We get to the, topics. Let's move to who's down,,John, what do you got?,Right, who's down? I'm going to go,with the Chargers owner, Dean,Spanos, and I'm going to go for,Thursday night's game, Amazon,,Amazon's game, that number,in Los Angeles, the TV,ratings number was surprisingly, low in the L.A.,market. They got a 6.8 rating, a 21,share. That basically means 21%,of all TVs in use,in Los Angeles were watching, the game.,It was a game with the Chargers, are good.,They have a star quarterback, who fractured a cartilage in his rib, cage and was still throwing, touchdowns. It was a close game,in just about any other market.,You would have expected that number,to be a lot higher.,The Rams last week, last, year and just the regular season, not not a primetime game they, averaging a 10.5 rating, the Chargers for that big game was,at a 6.8.,If I'm the Chargers or if I'm the, league, I'm not going to go so,far as to say I would be concerned, about that number.,But that did make me rai
