- This video got 15 million views on Instagram,,11 million views on TikTok,,and the recipe has been made millions of people worldwide.,Hey everyone, it's Yumna from Feel Good Foodie.,and I was one of the first bloggers to make baked,feta pasta trend on TikTok.,This recipe was created in Finland and brought,to the US by Grilled Cheese Social in 2019.,Now it's known as TikTok pasta,and I've been featured in the Wall Street Journal,New York times and Huffington post for the recipe.,It's basically a block of salty, melty feta cheese,with sweet and juicy cherry tomatoes,that create a heavenly sauce mixed with pasta.,I've made so many versions of the recipe.,So, I'm gonna share with you today,my favorite three versions, plus lots of tips,that you should be paying attention to,,if you wanna try the recipe.,So, let's get started.,We're gonna start with two pints of cherry tomatoes.,It helps if the cherry tomatoes are pretty small,because they're going to be more juicy and more sweet.,So, we're gonna go ahead,and transfer this to a baking dish.,And then we're gonna add half a cup of olive oil.,I know a lot of people think half a cup,of olive oil is a lot, but this really creates the sauce,for the recipe and we're dividing it into eight servings.,So, it really comes out to,about a tablespoon and a half per serving.,And I recommend using extra virgin olive oil,because it makes all the difference,in creating the best sauce for the recipe.,Now we'll add some salt, some fresh pepper,,and give everything a good toss.,Because the recipes made with such minimal ingredients.,It really helps to make sure that everything is super fresh.,So, don't use canned tomatoes.,Don't use dried basil and don't use just regular olive oil.,You wanna make sure,that everything is high quality and super fresh.,I've been getting a lot of questions,about what kind of feta cheese is the best for this recipe.,I think it works with all kinds of feta cheese.,but what I've found is sometimes French feta cheese,can be more creamy and Greek feta also has higher quality.,So, try to find some that's Greek or French if possible.,And if all you can find is crumbled feta cheese,because the stores are running out of it, it's fine.,Just bunch it up in the middle.,So, it doesn't dry out in the oven.,So now we're gonna take the block of feta cheese,,and stick it right in the middle of the baking dish.,And now you can add a touch,of olive oil on top and a little bit more black pepper.,And now we're going to bake this in the oven,at 400 degrees for 35 minutes, while that's in the oven,I'm going to share with you a second version.,So same drill once again.,We'll start with tomatoes, olive oil, salt, and pepper.,Now we had the goat cheese right in the middle.,Something fun I like to do here, is add some honey.,Bake at 400 for 35 minutes.,And now it's time,for the third version of baked feta pasta.,And this one's not baked.,It's done on the stove top.,So, we'll start again.,Same drill.,Tomatoes, olive oil, salt, and pepper.,Now, very carefully take a block of feta,,and place it right in the middle of the pan.,And then for the final touch,,just a little bit of crushed red pepper,,and you can add another drizzle of olive oil on top.,So now we're gonna let this cook on medium heat,for 10 minutes until the feta gets nice and melty,and the tomato starts to burst.,All right, I've got three versions,of feta pasta right in front of me.,And now I'll go ahead and start,with this version and we'll add some basil,,and next garlic,,and now it's time to mix it all together.,You can see the feta is nice and melty.,And the tomatoes are sweet and juicy,,and just bursting, literally.,I love how the tomatoes,,the olive oil and the feta,just create a silky, smooth, and beautiful sauce.,And the more you smash the tomatoes, the more,beautiful it creates a comfy, basically with that.,Time for the pasta.,This is cavatappi pasta, but you can use any kind.,And I also like to add some pasta water,because it really clings,onto the pasta and creates a nice, smooth, and silky sauce.,Then give everything a good toss and it'll be ready to go.,The drill is pretty much the same.,We're gonna add some basil,,some garlic, toss with some pasta and ready to serve.,(gentle upbeat music),So, here's the final product.,So many variations is a baked feta pasta,and I have so many more ideas,,and so many more tips on the website.,So, feel free to check it out,,and let me know which one you try,,and let me know if this recipe is worth all the hype.,And now I'm gonna see a video man,,wants to try it, and which one.,So, what do you think?,All right, he's gonna try the penne.,That's on the stove top.,So, let's see what he thinks of the recipe.,All right.,Video man, here you go.,What do you think?,Awesome. hey everyone it's kenji um and today,we're gonna make that,tick tock famous baked uh tomato and,feta pasta,and i apologize because i actually,started it already and i realized,halfway through that my card needed to,be reformatted so i've already got the,tomatoes,and feta in the oven so if you haven't,seen this recipe i'm usually not one to,jump onto viral recipe trends but,this one actually seemed really legit,for a number of reasons which i'll get,into,but if you haven't seen that recipe it's,essentially you take what i've got here,which is uh cherry tomatoes a block of,feta cheese you need to use,greek sheep's milk feta because the,american stuff,then the domestic stuff is not creamy,enough it'll the sauce will kind of turn,gritty whereas the um the greek stuff,will stay nice and creamy and fatty,some cloves of garlic and then i've also,got a little bit of,flat iron pepper company chili flakes in,here um you can use whatever chili,flakes you want i,particularly like theirs because,these guys i particularly like these,guys because um,they blend um well they blend a number,different chilis they have a different,they've,many different flavors and they use very,fresh,flavorful peppers so a lot more flavor,than your standard chili flakes,anyhow some olive oil black pepper,that's it no salt because the feta has,plenty of salt in it,and then you throw it into a 400 degree,oven for about 40 minutes so that's been,going for about 30 now and it's going to,take about another 10 minutes,meanwhile i'm going to get a pot of,water going to boil some pasta,and then we just stir it all together,and it becomes this delicious pasta dish,um,the the reason why this recipe works so,well,um aside from you know just the obvious,flavor combination of garlic olive oil,tomatoes and feta is that it relies on,cherry tomatoes um,now you know regular it's not summer,right it's not the end of summer right,now it's not it's not cherry tomato,season it's not tomato season at all,um and generally i i would avoid using,tomatoes out of tomato season because,they generally don't have that much,flavor,and the reason for that is because in,order to,ship tomatoes they have to um pick them,when they're kind of under ripe,otherwise they kind of squash themselves,under their own weight while they're,shipping,so they get picked under ripe they get,artificially ripened,in transport with ethylene gas which is,i mean it's a naturally occurring gas,but they artificially add it,to make the tomatoes um turn red but,they lack flavor,and they lack juiciness so cherry,tomatoes on the other hand,and so the smaller the tomato the easier,it is to find good ones in the winter,and that's because of,a thing called the square cube law which,is that um,as things get larger their volume and,therefore their mass,will will grow in three dimensions,whereas their footprint only grows in,two dimensions,so their mass will cube um while their,um their area the area that's supporting,them will only,um double uh sorry not double we'll um,square world will square as opposed to,cube um and so what this means is that,the bigger things get,the more um pressure they're putting on,themselves so that's why like,animals have a limited size that's why,buildings have a limited size you can't,just scale things up infinitely,so likewise tomatoes when they're,smaller they have,a better ratio of support to mass,than a larger tomato so therefore,smaller the smaller tomato is the more,ripe it can get,before it's picked because it won't,squash itself under its own weight,um and so cherry tomatoes tend to be,much better than larger tomatoes in the,winter so cherry tomatoes,in the winter they can be just as good,as they are in the summer i mean,obviously not if you have like a cherry,tomato plant in your backyard and you're,picking up,picking it from the vine and it's still,warm like those are the best but,supermarket cherry tomatoes can be,really good um cherry tomatoes are also,higher in pectin than other types of,tomatoes,which is what makes sauces kind of um,thicker it's you know it's the the it's,the carbohydrate that also makes jams,and jellies thicker,but in the case of tomatoes um it makes,tomato sauces kind of thicker and cling,to your pasta better so cherry tomatoes,are a great,choice for making pasta sauces um out of,season if you don't want to use canned,tomatoes,so those are the reasons why i think,this recipe is going to work well it,does work very well,and as soon as this water comes to boil,um i'm actually,i'm just going to throw my pasta before,it even comes to boil i'm using my,my low water method of cooking pasta um,and i know i know i know i know because,every time i do this there's going to be,comments um saying you need to use a,gallon of pasta for a gallon of water,for every 100 grams of pasta or whatever,you know,whatever it is you need a large volume,of pasta um you don't,uh and i've tested this myself,in blind taste tests many many many,times with multiple testers,um h

now this blew up this went crazy,everyone was requesting that i make it,and for some reason i think i was kind,of burnt out on the idea and so i never,made it so i'm going to be making it,today it's been around for a while on,the internet so apparently this recipe,took off way back in 2018 when a finnish,food blogger named jenny herron posted,this recipe on her blog it took off in,finland people loved this recipe they,actually sold out of feta cheese and,then it got reposted on tick tock where,it blew up again but to a global,audience so that is where we are today i,am going to be making a baked feta,tomato pasta,dish that looks delicious it looks very,simple it uses a block of feta cheese,and tomatoes little cherry tomatoes that,you bake and then roast you swirl it all,together with some cooked pasta top it,with basil and that's pretty much your,dish it looks beautiful it looks very,simple and apparently it is quite,tasty but we are here to confirm that so,if you've missed my other tick tock,recipe test i'll put a link down below,to the playlist alrighty let's go ahead,and get started,so behind me i have my oven preheating,to 400 degrees now in a deep casserole,dish we're gonna dump some ingredients,in okay first a healthy drizzle of olive,oil,then a block of feta cheese i'm using,narragansett creamery's feta cheese,feta is salty briny,and it crumbles easily it's great for,salads for that reason,and we're going to place it right in the,middle now surrounding our block of feta,we're going to add our tomatoes these,are grape tomatoes,we're gonna,place them all around,our feta this is probably about a cup,and a half for one of those,packages that you can buy at the,supermarket basically one layer of,tomatoes now we're gonna add some more,olive oil get the top of the feta as,well remember this is going to be part,of our sauce so,be generous with that look it looks,beautiful already so on top of this,block of feta we're going to add some,chili which i think is a great addition,so i'm going to add one chili pepper it,looks like that i'm not sure of the,variety but they're not too spicy,and thinly slice that,if you don't like heat try removing,these seeds,but i like heat so i'm keeping all those,just gonna add that to the top and then,i'm gonna add,three cloves of garlic,just smushing these,to get them out of their,paper jackets add that,to the tomatoes,if you have a really large clove,cut in,half so since i like garlic i'm going to,go ahead and add,four full cloves because garlic is,delicious,and on top of that,we're going to generously salt that,although the feta is salty,and now we're going to add some freshly,cracked pepper,and now we're going to pop this into a,preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes,and then we're going to broil it for an,additional 10 minutes to get a little,bit of crispy char on the tomatoes and,cheese alrighty my lovelies the pasta is,ready i'm going to drain it into a,colander,this is a pound of pasta i don't think,we'll be using all of it,but that is okay because,my kiddos especially love pasta right,there's our hot spaghetti now let me,grab the tomatoes and cheese,oh it smells so good,ah it looks fabulous look at,that the cheese is nice and broiled,tomatoes have a little char on them,they're nice and shriveled,now we're going to swirl this all up and,this is going to make our sauce oh (upbeat music),- Hey guys, it's me, Jasmine,,and I am back with more TikTok recreations.,Last time I made a few vegan recipes.,This time, pasta, baby.,I found two in particular that I really wanna recreate.,So first we have the succulent raviolis.,I'm a plant mom, I saw these,,and I was like, yes, we're doing it.,Second are these lemon raviolis.,They look amazing.,They are paired with this lemon sauce filled,with a lemon cheese.,I love lemon anything.,Let's get started.,Honestly, it doesn't look that hard.,I'm gonna eat my words later, aren't I?,(Jasmine panting),I think I'm losing my mind.,I'm not gonna lie,,I'm a little nervous because @dannylovespasta,makes it look extremely easy,and some people think I'm clumsy.,So we're gonna start by making the pasta.,We're gonna be making two colors,and we are gonna be using all natural ingredients,to color our dough.,We're gonna start with 100 grams of flour,,which is about a half a cup.,Now I'm gonna add in the butterfly pea tea flower.,We're gonna mix this together.,It is blue but once we add in the egg,,you'll see some magic.,So we're gonna pour this on to our clean surface,,make a little well, add in an egg,,half a tablespoon of oil,,and then continue mixing,and incorporating everything together.,Egg mixes with the blue from the butterfly pea tea flower.,It's gonna create green.,Right now it kind of looks like Frankenstein-y,,but it'll all come together.,You can totally use a stand mixer,if you want to make this a quicker process,,but the portions we're making are quite small,so I thought it'd be easier to do it by hand.,So after you roll it all out,,it's a beautiful succulent green.,Set it to the side and I'm gonna cover it with a bowl.,And then we're gonna make our terracotta pasta.,It's the same recipe.,We're gonna take our flour,and color it this time with paprika.,Mix it all together,,and now we're gonna pour it onto our surface.,Use the bowl itself to create a well,,add our egg.,Oh my gosh.,That's so pretty.,It's taking everything in me to not take a picture.,Oh well, I'll just fight it.,Half a tablespoon of oil, I'm just eyeballing it.,Now we're gonna incorporate everything together.,The color is already forming.,It's so pretty!,Whenever I do make pasta at home,,I'll make it with my stand mixer,and I'll make it in large amounts.,Mixing it all together is a lot more satisfying.,Feels like I have to, you know,,put in more love and care into my food,,and I like that.,So same thing with this.,We're just gonna knead this until everything comes together,and after you should have a dough,that looks something like this.,Same thing.,We're gonna set it to the side and cover it up with a bowl,so a crust doesn't form on the outside.,Now it's time for decorating.,Oh my God, I'm really excited.,Oh, dang it!,Never mind, it's time to roll it.,Start with the green dough.,I'm gonna flatten it with my hands just a little bit.,We're gonna put it through our pasta roller.,(mixer whirring),We're looking to get that perfect rectangle,before we actually roll things out,,just to make our lives a little easier.,We're gonna do this a couple more times,so it's nice and smooth.,Oh my gosh, it's so beautiful.,All right,,we're gonna do the same thing with our terracotta dough.,Beautiful!,I see you, Danny.,All this hard work for a short video.,All right, we got both of our doughs here.,They look so pretty.,I'm scared to touch them.,Danny's starts with this pasta cutter.,We're gonna press this but try to avoid the bottom.,It looks good.,Okay, yeah.,So I'm gonna put the triangle below the point,of the top to do some window spacing.,Must be precise.,Okay, the filling is gonna go on that bottom portion there,so we wanna make sure we don't cut through that.,Okay, that looks pretty good.,Now we're gonna connect these lines here.,I'm scared!,This is fun, though.,Unless I mess up, then it's not fun.,Oh yes, the top layer is good.,Wow, if anyone's gonna do this at home,,do not drink caffeine, okay?,'Cause my hands are so shaky.,Look at it.,It looks very unimpressive right now, but that's okay.,I'm gonna set this to the side.,I'm gonna start doing them vertically,so we can get more succulents out of it.,Yes! ground black,pepper someone told me that white pepper,is actually better I'm gonna have to,check that out but go ahead with some,adobo I use the red,um lid I wonder what's the difference,between the blue,but um Adobe seasoning yes this actually,come in a big season instead of the,little packets every time I see it I buy,you know I got my lottery,seasoning salt,can't go I don't like any other seasons,of bull hours but hey,Slap Yo Mama oh I dropped that so don't,worry about that I am going to clean it,before I use it,um some complete seasonings this is a,very good seasoning too,so yeah my next season is some Mrs Dash,you know I love my Mrs Dash,and um,look at me I kind of like to put a,little extra in there and go in with,some onion powder and we're gonna go,ahead and just mix all these seasonings,back together yes I rinsed that off,before I used it before y'all get on,here she dropped it and then put it off,no I freaking rinse it off but anyways,go ahead and mix this all together until,it's all the way broken down and all the,way cooked,foreign,part of salt and water,so I like to break my noodles in three,because when I'm eating I hate to have,to keep breaking my noodles so I go,ahead and just make it easier for me I,break them in three,but listen this is optional to you I'm,just telling you how I break my noodles,you don't have to do it like this but,just the moral of the story is boy you,some spaghetti noodles in a pot of,I couldn't get it out in a pot of water,with some salt cook them until they Al,Dente but make sure you go ahead when,you put them in you mix that around,because you don't want nothing sticking,so let's get back to this so our meat is,done now we're going to drain the excess,fat off and then we're gonna come back,now we're back right here is optional you don't,have to do this if you like how it,tastes,already that is fine you don't have to,do this and trust me when I do this it,tastes very very good it don't taste,over seasoned or anything like that but,when I do do this I don't ever use,seasoning salt again or any type of salt,because it'll make it salty the other,ones are just enhance and bring out the,flavor so,yeah y'all don't mind me yes I am Marie,seasoning this again,but you want to get this to start like I,said keep it on low medium and let all,those flavors and juices simmer in,okay now the spaghetti is done I do a,little taste test,and we're going to go ahead and rinse,this off in cold water and then we're,going to come back to this,now it's time to make the Alfredo sauce,alfredo sauce is very easy to make,you're gonna go in with some heavy,whipping cream I'm going to use two cups,of heavy pepper but two cups of heavy,whipping cream,but,it's also good for you to add in oh here,I go
