way,more important things going on and,going on in the world and i didn't want,to take away from that,and decided to finish it up because it's,been a bit,and yeah so,tink wait you guys you have to see her,right now,look at that okay so,we left off and wait,recap pilot and shane,they were in the presence day they went,into an elevator,crashed they went back in time,their spirit guy is like you need to,figure things out,see if you like it and then you will,also reset the end of the semester,or there will be a like,reset button and pilot is like,beyond pissed off at shane and shane's,like wait no this is really cool i might,be able to relive,my um my semester abroad because she,really misses creative writing,things go well things don't go well um,long story short they end up falling in,love,and pink and they,want to stay in this timeline and be,together,take and they find the spirit guide,and they convince her and they stay in,it,it was a really poor recap of it all,i've read it so many times tink stay,here,where are you going you guys,you have to see your face take,hi so yeah i'm just going gonna open,questions because i don't really know,what to say right now,but all right i look twitter and i have,instagram but instagram gives me so much,anxiety with,all of the comments,um,so i get i feel like i'm just sitting,here staring at my phone and i feel bad,i'm like reading to myself,what is the name of the book oh it's i,give it better it's really cute you guys,should read it,um i feel bad that i i stopped halfway,through,and didn't finish it like the way it,should have been but,had a really really nice ending pure,wish fulfillment,and it was cute,all right you can turn off the comments,no it's kind of fun,i just don't know how to reply to them,all,uh okay do you think that,their relationship with pilot will last,or,will they it up somehow i hope that,they last would be really cute if they,lasted but,life is life um,what was your favorite travel trip in,the second part of the book,i liked italy and scotland i liked the,scotland just because,pilot made up to made up shane,and they got together and they want to,be together and i thought it was really,funny that they were trying to find,their spirit guide who has red hair,and in scotland they were like turning,around all these different people and,i thought that's funny i've never been,i've always wanted to go though,um what did you think of the engagement,scene,i thought it was cute i was actually,thrown i was like i thought when,they were solidified in the,timeline i thought that was going to be,the end i was like whoa there's way more,uh fun fact christine made a playlist,through the book on spotify what,i need to find this i bet it has a lot,of taylor swift just guessing,um,which book is next i already know what,book is next,and i can't share right now because,i'm gonna announce it next week and i'm,really excited for everyone to read this,book,it's very special and i think you all,will really like it,favorite food,like a lot of foods i'm about to go eat,some chick-fil-a,um i couldn't stop laughing at the part,where shane's,parents showed up out of nowhere and,made everyone have dinner with them,how did you feel about that i thought it,was hilarious i thought it was so sad,because shane's entire world just kind,of fell apart,and she felt so embarrassed in front hello again guys my Instagram completely,just froze my phone froze everything,froze and I had to go off of Instagram,and come back so I'm sorry but I'm gonna,add a me back in and we're gonna talk,more about ways to be friends and ask,her questions ask the questions that you,guys sent in so hopefully Aimee can get,her off going up again and I can add her,back and see if she's here and she is,alright hopefully it doesn't freeze,again like again I kind of came from a,place of wanting to make them really,different but maybe made sense for them,to be friends but also made sense for,them to start having some differences,and that you know I wanted to fill in,their world I would be going through,some family stuff so I wanted to give,them each like you know like a really,like actual pants that had like,characteristics and not just sort of in,the background and that they're loving,Christmas or James it was looking for,cat it was Quinn and just kind of like,what they would bring out in them over,the years,for the name the book was partially,inspired by the structure of the musical,the last five years and that was about,characters named Kathy and Jaime so I,made them James and cat to be like kind,of a nod to that oh that's awesome,um how long did it take you to write the,book he was about a year total which is,a little but this book was a beast,because of the two timelines for took me,along yeah I I bet that took a lot um,so hunter daya asks was your high school,experience similar to Kat or James hmm,probably like okay that's the one thing,about writing is your life,what I went through was breakups and I,think it was probably kind of one I have,similar things to both of them like I,definitely I think it's some ways about,more like James or I would like I was,worried I'm left behind by my,friend I was worried I was like they,were cooler than me what space did I,hold but then I also can relate to cat,who's just sort of like she wants to,have fun and have someone to depend on,and it feels like that person she,doesn't value her anymore,and that feel scary tail so it's okay I,think there's a building being built on,the other side of the street so I have,construction non-stop um let's see,lyrics for Mendez said do you think it,would be possible for cat and James to,become friends ever again or was that,the end of their friendship I mean I,always feel weird talking to the,obviously good yeah someone said that I,may decide that they feel that cat never,realized her mistakes and blamed James,for the whole entire fire I think I,think cat knows that she has to do some,work on yourself I think you need to,check in with people I think do not just,worry about myself not so it takes time,yeah so I get there um or I love $0.26 I,really want to know if you thought the first chapter James checks cat,and says like maybe we can maybe we can,meet up in our usual Christmas Eve spot,next year,well maybe they cut that maybe they,talked maybe maybe this hope for college,and then I completely know you have to,write things down I use the right thing,so you have to have like a little,recorder and just because otherwise I'll,just say things and then later I'm like,well that's always whenever I ask my mom,like how should I reply to this and,she'll say I'm like you said it way too,fast,dambreuse said ask would you chew would,you change something about the book if,you could hmm I don't know there's,always like I feel like writers are,never done you always like want to go,back in and like you know fidget with it,but I'm really proud with how it turned,out I notice when people wish it was a,little more gonna do that you really,happened or that they feel things before,the book ended but I think like real,life yeah in life nothing is definitive,and sometimes things aren't healed or,fixed and oh yeah some of my books I,have like very specific things I wish I,could add or subtract but I'm like I,feel pretty good about like ya know I,love the ending when when James is,saying in her head like when I look at,her like she just knows what I'm,thinking is it was such a beautiful,ending and I love thank you yeah um I,have a question what is one of your,favorite books,oh so I feel like whenever someone asked,me I'm like wait what are books I just,read a really good way a book by Sara,Zarr called goodbye from nowhere which,is it just came out a week or so ago,which is actually about a boy going,through a lot of what James goes through,in my book we're having a family dynamic,is changing a lot and he doesn't know,like he oh my gosh,i looked like this when i was little,hold on guys i'm playing around with,these one second,fun,what even is this,oh i've used this one,okay,ooh eyes,that's cool,oh this is this is intense,this should even be allowed,interesting i,this is crazy okay,i look more like me,what's up guys i have not been here,for a while had a lot of stuff going on,um but hoping it's it's all gonna end up,okay um,yeah so i usually have my book club,called sydney sweet reads right now,and we haven't had it in a while so i,really wanted to,start it back up again and read and i,hope you guys,are down to do it also um,if you haven't seen i announced my,production company called 5050 films,and one of the first projects i will be,doing,is called they wish they were us it's,based off of a book,called by jessica goodman called they,wish they were us,and i partnered with jean-marc ballet,and nathan ross's company crazy rose,which,i worked on sharp objects with them and,so,we're going to produce it together and,we're going to turn it into a,limited series and i'm going to play,jill,and this is the book,it's available at barnes and noble at a,lot of indie bookstores i'll post on,my stories all the links to,all of the different places that you can,order it and i was gonna give everyone,like a week or two to get their books,and then we could start reading,um but i will come back hey guys how's it going I gotta make,sure no notifications pop up welcome,back to Sydney sweet reads but bustled,book club we have officially finished we,used to be friends by Amie Spaulding,it's a very bittersweet moment finish,your first book you guys I'm very proud,of all of us um yeah so I definitely,have a lot of questions with you guys,and comments and I'm gonna talk about,chapters 10 to 13 and we finished the,book a lot happen during these chapters,which was crazy so we'll start off and,then I'll I'll start talking you guys,but so we start with chapter 10 which,was May of senior year and we're back in,Kats perspective and the Burbank leader,comes out which is like this newspaper,that they had an interview for and,really excited cuz they're they're,campaigning to be able to win prom,couple so when she gets home Diana's,over and asks if Kat was like to go prom,dress shopping with her and she agrees,and she picks out this most beautiful,dress and doing so cat kind of has a,little breakdown missing her mom and,sharing moments like these with her,which broke my heart,later James and cat hangs out at cats,Friday night and the entire time cat is,making this big deal out of prom and,talking about all their plans with Quinn,which kind of I think closes closes,James off the night of prom,Quinn feels bad because she can't run a,car because she's too young I hate the,age limit it doesn't make sense uh so,she has to drive her dad's yellow sports,car which i think is still cool but,she's embarrassed they're promised at,the Beverly Hilton,really pretty we have a lot of funds,there the girls want to go to the photo,booth like they always do but cat,doesn't see James so she texts her and,James replies and she says she's not,coming like she's tried to explain a,hundred times and she'll repay a cop for,the dress and cat seems really,disappointed and distracted the entire,night because of this and quit,Quincy's that but cat lies to her and,says everything is just fine later cut,and crying win prom couple which I mean,come on we all knew that was gonna,happen if they did a shame on that,school they danced in front of everyone,and cat says the only thing that she,would have change does have James there,with her let's see,so they got three hotel rooms the girls,and their couples which I didn't know my,parents would let me I never went to,prom so I don't know if I have currents,would have let me do that or not,that night cat starts talking about how,weird James has been and Quinn says it's,probably because of her cat breaks down,her dad dating someone new and missing,her mom and Quinn starts to ask her,questions about our mom and so we kind,of get to learn more about her and her,relationship with her and I think one of,the things that I really liked that she,said is that her mom's hotter to never,settle for cheap chocolate I like that,I'm gonna take that um we learned that,she died from cardiac arrhythmia and she,didn't even know she had it and that,definitely when she said that that made,me notice everything back in the book,whenever thought would be like worried,about her heartbeat or like counting her,heartbeat like shouldn't if her mom,didn't know she had it like could this,happen to her at any time and then Quinn,and Kat tell each other they love one,another,whoa okay everyone's saying so much oh,my god hi guys um so now we're in,Chapter 11 and as October of senior,Murray with James and this chapter so,much happened and I think that we,learned so much about James and what,carried her throughout the entire book I,made us kind of feel more empathy,towards her,so we start off with Logan texting her,that the roommate is going for the,weekends and Kat invites them to go,rollerskating with Quinn and her friends,they sit at Quinn's table and there was,no room for James and James hopes it's,not like a thing that continues on all,year,Quinn shows James her college List which,is the same as cats which raises some,suspicions with James cat is over at,James eating and asking about her,long-distance plan with Logan which,James didn't really know she needed and,James always has like tons of plans she,has her 15 year plan and she was like,wait is this a plan that I did not know,about her mom comes home until it Scott,she needs to go home for dinner,I could tell there's like a little of,that animosity there that James,mentioned a graduation and I wish that,they would have gone more into that like,why doesn't the mom like hot completely,when they go rollerskating cos it's a,little good to do this couples skate,with her it seemed innocent me being a,girl I was like what uh let's see they,did a couple of skate James is already,annoyed with Quinn and the girls cuz,they're slow and Logan mixed out of her,for it and then he takes her back to his,dorm and they like you know they they,have love and then we find out that he's,the only guy she's been with James goes,to find Kat at a cafe to talk about the,night but Quinn is there so she doesn't
