let me just get straight into kristen,page because i'm not going to waste any,time,in this episode married at first sight,season 12,episode 9. what the heck what happened,to paige guys,paige who said you know i'm i'm done,this is the draw this is the pull of,being,in a trauma bond or a a narcissistic,relationship,cycle of abuse it is just so,hard sometimes for people to see that,they're,in something with a toxic individual,i can't say that chris is a narcissist,because i don't have the qualification,guys to go and diagnose this individual,but when you see narcissistic traits,like what we've seen,in chris and his behavior his actions,you start to think this is why we need,to do,this kind of learning about these topic,areas,so that you know how to reduce contact,with individuals like that you know how,to,pick up on red flags faster so let's,start with chris's pasta,recently chris is uh chris's pastor,reaches out to paige,and paige goes and meets the pastor and,actually,has a good conversation that tells us,okay,the pastor has some sense in terms of he,says this is a double-minded man meaning,chris is double-minded he's unstable in,all of his ways,why are we pretending that we don't know,the word of god,yes paige i'm sure you know that,scripture too,that is the scripture that you should be,holding saying hold on i'm seeing mixed,messages,he's blowing hot and cold oh my god chris and paige from meredith,versailles,have gotten back together you guys i,couldn't even make this stuff up it's,that,crazy so much stuff is going on i don't,want to waste any time so let's just,jump,right into this one number one we got to,see a few episodes ago,that it did look like chris ended up,telling paige hey i'm sorry i'm going to,go back to my ex-fiance mercedes,and that is that we are going to work it,out and raise this baby then in the last,episode we got to see chris and paige,and his ex-fiance mercedes come together,and in that little meeting mercedes,chris's ex-fiance said,i am not taking chris back so right then,and there we were like wait what,but after that meeting you know you,could see chris was freaking mad and the,funniest thing was paige and chris's,ex-fiance mercedes,were kind of buddy buddy they were kind,of getting along and chris was a really,bad,but we started off this episode of chris,talking with paige,it was more towards the end hi guys welcome back to my channel and,if you're new welcome to my channel my,name is stephanie yates anya builder,stephania for short and i'm a licensed,associate marriage and family therapist,today we're going to be doing a deep,dive into chris and paige but,mostly chris and we're going to be,talking a lot about narcissistic,personality disorder if you're curious,stay tuned,so if you've been keeping up with merit,at first sight season 12,the most talked about couple probably in,married at first sight history,are paige and chris i don't know if i,would call them a couple just based on,the definition of relationship i'm not,really sure that they were in one based,on what we've seen on camera,but i want to talk a little bit about,chris because it's been thrown around,that chris is a narcissist and i feel,like in popular culture today we really,just use that word very lightly,uh when we refer to someone as a,narcissist we're typically talking about,people who,we think of as maybe selfish or really,into themselves or,vain a lot of times if somebody seems,arrogant,we use the word narcissism but,narcissism is something that can,actually be clinically diagnosed and i,want to use today's video to share with,you,that based on what we've seen on merit,at first sight and based on that alone,i definitely would say that chris meets,the criteria for,narcissistic personality disorder the way that she handled,herself in that relationship,and i really do believe that most of the,focus should be on chris,because he was giving her very mixed,messages and,her being a woman that really values,marriage that being one of her high,priorities and values in life,so i really did understand why she was,giving him so many opportunities because,the idea of getting a divorce was very,devastating to her especially so early,on and in such a public manner,but i think ultimately she did see that,being with chris was probably going to,be significantly more devastating,but she gave him as many opportunities,as she was willing to do and,i can't really fault her for that but i,do want to talk specifically about what,to look for,with narcissism what i'm going to do is,do a comparison between,the clinical criteria or requirements,for narcissistic personality disorder,which i already have a video on if,you're just looking for those symptoms,and not the mass review,i will put that in the cards but i will,be comparing those symptoms,to behaviors that we have seen on the,show,from chris just to drive it home based,on what we've seen,that if he were my client i would,definitely diagnose him,with narcissistic personality disorder,but again,like i said in my eric and virginia math,review,these are not my clients i don't know,them in and out and,this is still a tv show so the way,things are edited,how producers speak with people people's,personal triggers,it could possibly bring out the worst,side of them or they could be,very cautious and we only see the best,side of them so,this is still a tv show and i am not,qualified to diagnose a person that i've,never seen,i just want you to have some examples of,what these symptoms,look like in real life and we just so,happen to have a very,clear example of some of those behaviors,on merit at first sight,without further ado let's jump right in,so when it comes to,narcissism we are really looking for
