check out this video right here.,Now, once your profile has been made over, and it's crystal clear who you serve, you'll,then move into the second phase of this strategy of how to sell without a website.,The second phase is all about your Instagram highlights.,Now, just to be clear with highlights, you have stories and then you have highlights.,So stories disappear after 24 hours, right?,They're little video clips that live right behind your profile and they disappear after,a day.,Highlights on the other hand are saved Instagram stories.,So anything that you created more than 24 hours ago, you can actually save as a highlight,,which is all those bubbles underneath your profile.,You can save that story content in one of those highlights.,Those highlights can live on your profile forever, for as long as you want.,There's no limit to how long the content within your highlights can exist on your profile.,The reason why I'm emphasizing highlights so much is because highlights are going to,become what would be the navigation menu of your website if you were using one.,So when you go to a website and maybe you can visit one right now, like elisedarma.com,,take a look at the navigation menu.,These are the main topics that the website covers.,And usually you'll see things like about me, services, client reviews, contact me, blog,- those sort of topics.,So with this in mind, I want you to think about designing highlights specifically to,replicate those topics you would typically see in a navigation menu.,Here's what I suggest.,Have a highlight called about me.,A second highlight called work with me or services - when I first opened the Instagram app,and started posting and got some mixed,feelings to be honest I was constantly,posting putting a lot of effort in my,posts the right lighting the right,camera equipment but I was not getting,any likes not getting any comments and,more importantly I was not selling any,art through Instagram it felt like I was,working for free marketing these social,media companies without getting anything,in return and so of course it felt,horrible of course I felt like I was,being used by these social media,companies and on top of that it felt,like the process of making art took way,too long to adhere to the posting,schedule necessary to succeed on,Instagram if you are making oil,paintings for example that take weeks to,dry how in the hell are you going to,post enough content to post on a daily,basis or even worse several times a day,and then to top everything off when I,was looking at these social media posts,that were getting all the likes I saw,the same type of art the same faces the,same eyes the same hairstyles the same,Parts just the same everything it was,like there was some kind of Instagram,type of art that worked very well on the,platform and I didn't want to make the,type of art I didn't want to make those,Instagram type of faces there's this,beautiful quote from Mark Forster in,spite of what many teachers of creative,thinking say the best way to be creative,is not to try and think Without Limits,but to very carefully Define what those,limits should be and it felt like I,couldn't Define those limits on,Instagram because on Instagram Instagram,was defining them for me and I did not,necessarily agree with these predefined,Instagram limitations and so how can we,overcome these limitations how can we,post on Instagram while still being true,to our creative selves to our own art,style and still get likes comments and,shares and all of that stuff well let's,talk about these problems one by one and,while we are doing that I'm going to,make an artwork that shows how I feel,about Instagram at this very moment the,first problem that painting takes too,long and that you therefore cannot make,enough posts or making of paintings to,make enough posts to succeed on,Instagram is complete and other rules if,you think about it because you can make,an unlimited amount of foes about reinforcing it even more with 120k followers on LinkedIn.,And she finishes off strong with a call to action and a link which I’ll talk about,more in a moment so stay tuned for that.,That’s a well-executed bio that’s showcasing Maria’s offer very clearly.,Below the bio, you can be very strategic with your Highlights and really optimize this space,for sales.,Some of the core Highlights that you could create for this purpose are About Me or Start,Here, Work With Me if you’re a service provider or something like Bestsellers or Offer for,product-based businesses, Testimonials or Reviews for all those raving reviews you’re,getting, maybe something like Client Love to show the amazing things other people share,about your brand and so much more.,I have a whole video with different ideas for your Highlights.,It’s been created some time ago, but most of the stuff I share there is still very much,relevant so you can watch it after you’re done with this video.,Within your content itself, you have to be clear on exactly who it is that you serve,through your business and help alleviate some of their pain points.,After all, this is how you bring value to the table and showcase your this: What you post should work in harmony with what you offer.,Even if you’re an influencer and don’t sell your own product or service, showing,content that matches the types of brands you want to
