bashkoff who is the,director of artist Partnerships at meta,formerly known as Facebook and so,obviously me being a big like social,media and content Advocate I had a lot,of questions for them just in terms of,like how you grow on the platform,because we all know that reach just,isn't what it used to be on any social,media platform whether we're talking,about Instagram Facebook Twitter even,Tick Tock now it's much much harder to,reach a broad audience and so my goal,for this interview was really just to,ask him all the important Rel relevant,questions for music creators,specifically so he gave a lot of really,good Insight on how to get verified on,Instagram what are the requirements the,prerequisites how to think about and,approach your content and also a bunch,of tools and programs and initiatives,that Instagram is rolling out,specifically for music creators and I,even asked him what he thought about the,Eight dollar verification that Elon Musk,is rolling out on Twitter but the,director of artist Partnerships at meta,enjoy guys if you can just start with,just stating your job title and what you,do at meta yeah yeah so I'm the uh I'm,the director of artist Partnerships at,meta so working with artists working,with management companies,um and labels to a certain extent just,to help educate,um on the tools that are available the,different products that are available to,help tell stories,um so whether it's an album release or,whether it's a cooking show or whatever,it is that that the artist is passionate,about making sure that they know how to,use all the tools that we have available,both on Instagram side and Facebook side,now okay perfect all right so since my,audience is like mostly music creators,right it's like artists producers,Engineers singers rappers songwriters,I'm sure you're on the platform every,day like I'm heavily on Instagram every,day uh what music creators are standing,out to you on IG like what catches your,eye when you come across a musician on,Instagram yeah yeah I think for me I'm,when I'm scrolling through uh um you,know it's definitely a talent of course,but I think be people that are you know,being being super authentic and being,part of the community what I mean by,that is like using the tools to interact,with either the trends or you know these,open first challenge type things or um,you know or maybe setting those those,types of Trends,um you know people that are really,pushing the envelope in terms of that,creativity so it's one thing to do a,cover it's another thing to do a mashup,cover it's another thing to do a cover,that no one's expecting,um by you know flipping out the beat or,flipping up into some something else,um that that's what the beauty of this,platform is about is is enabling all,that creativity and that's that's what,has been exciting for me is to be able,to kind of watch everyone you know do,that and we find all these new stories,but but I think the folks that are doing,it,um consistently are the ones that you,know continue to show up in my feed,um whether or not I'm following them,because because they are getting that,engagement right and they're kind of,putting their toe or their finger in a,bunch of different conversations,um so I always I always talk to artists,and I say hey you know like outside of,music what are you passionate about,making sure that you're interacting with,those communities so when you see,someone who might be into fashion or,someone might be into sports or,something like that how are you creating,content for or in and around that,Community as well,um so I think those would be the the,folks that I think you know I I refer to,as Music Plus,um you know it's it's it's music and,like what what else are you interacting,with on the platform,um because you're just showing up for me,often you know and whether it's you or,your music You're just showing up for me,quite often,so how is meta and Instagram looking at,the music community in terms of,activation like on the app are there any,initiatives or opportunities right now,for specifically for music creators,yeah there's a bunch and we're
